Q?

How do I install the product?

Begin with a clean, dry substrate. Lay product on substrate without adhesive and outline with tape (2" painters/masking tape works well). Remove product and generously apply adhesive to one section at a time, laying each piece as your included diagram indicates.

Once you have adhered all of the pieces to the substrate, remove tape. Be careful not to get any adhesive on your shoes or hands, as it is PERMANENT.

Q?

How do I prepare the existing substrate?

Make sure that the existing flat substrate is CLEAN and DRY. Remove moisture or debris from where you will be installing the product. Substrate should not be frozen.
Q?

How long does the installation process take?

Depending on the size of the product and/or the amount of ramps to be installed, the installation process can take as little as half an hour to a few hours. We recommend, in order to keep your installation time at a minimum, to follow the instructions and product diagram included with your order.
Q?

My ramp/landing came in several pieces. How do I put the pieces together?

Included with your order is a product diagram created for your specific order. Take a moment prior to installation to lay out the pieces in coordination with the diagram to familiarize yourself with how your product is to be installed. Please take a moment to note where the top and bottom of each piece are and where they are in reference to each other. Paying close attention to the diagram will ensure the installation process goes smoothly.
Q?

Door jambs & walls protrude outwardly. How do I notch the product to fit?

We recommend using a jigsaw with a COARSE blade - or in most cases a boxcutter or carpet knife will work just fine.

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND the use of a circular saw to cut ramp product.
The use of any electrical, battery, or pneumatic powered circular saw may result in serious injury due to unexpected binding, grabbing, or pinching of ramp material.

Q?

What kind of adhesive do I use to install the product?

    We recommend using SikaFlex-1a. Sikaflex-1a is a commercial grade, high-performance, moisture-cured, 1-component, polyurethane-based, non-sag elastomeric sealant.
Q?

What is the weight of the product?

Our ramps weigh between 5 lbs. to 75 lbs. Our EntryLevel™ Landings, however, weigh between 100 lbs. to over 600 lbs. depending on the height and length. Please refer to our Products page for our sizing chart.
Q?

Is my ramp upside down?

First of all, this is NOT AN UNCOMMON QUESTION. This is usually common with our smaller ramps, as they have no pattern on the top. The bottom of the ramps have a texture that many believe would belong on the top for added traction. This texture, however, is specifically designed to better adhere to the substrate and for weeping alleys. The top of the ramp will be: 1. Coated, 2. labeled with a SafePath Emblem, and/or 3. have a matrix/diamond pattern or smooth surface.
